As much as you'd like to think a butter knife, fork, flat head screwdriver, or creepily long fingernail might do the trick to remove the o-ring from the check valve assembly, better to get the right tool for the job.
We suggest a small pair of needle nose pliers until we start offering our own o-ring removal tool.
